Adrian Glover, sales and design manager from Viking Saunas said: “Marriott Meon Valley Hotel and Country Club now has a top of the range ‘stratus’ steam room. This provides a combination of tiling and mosaic and seats up to 18 people. It features a fibre optic starry sky and mood lighting. The sauna, which seats up to 14, also features LED orange and yellow mood lighting. The Marriott Dalmahoy also had a ‘stratus’ steam room installed and a slightly smaller sauna which has been enhanced with colour therapy lighting.”
Both sites involved the removal and installation of poolside facilities.
Carly Robinson, director of leisure at Marriott Meon Valley said: “We have a membership base alone of 2200 and Viking recommended what would work best to meet demand.
“We wanted to create a certain ‘wow’ factor for guests and those booking pamper days. The new steam room especially has set us apart from our competitors as they don’t have comparable ‘wet’ facilities. I did a great deal of research on the quality and type of facilities that we needed and I am delighted with what Viking has provided. The company was also the saving grace as its efficient install got us back on track for meeting our completion deadline. We have also been shown how to protect & clean the facilities in order to give longevity to our investment.”
Alistair Kinchin, general manager for the Marriott Dalmahoy Hotel and Country Club said: “Our facilities were basically getting tired and we needed to provide the experience that is expected of a hotel of our calibre. It was important, therefore, to ensure that we were getting quality; which Viking then enhanced with the latest in fibre optics and lighting. I am now confident that we are giving our members what they want. I am also pleased that we managed to keep any disruption to an absolute minimum and our leisure club remained fully operational throughout the installation. I was encouraged to see that the workmen were respectful and mindful of both our residents and members during this time.”
