VIKING STEAMS IN WITH NEW INFRARED CABIN
Where lack of space is a problem, or for those people who simply cannot tolerate the heat of a sauna, Viking Saunas has the answer. Launched this month is its new Ultra Infrared cabin which fits into the smallest of areas, requiring only a 13amp socket, ready for almost instantaneous use.

Pam Senior, manager of Viking Saunas Ltd, explains: “As well as being smaller in size, Infrared cabins have no special ventilation requirements, and consume only a fraction of the energy required to operate a conventional sauna.

“Humidity or moisture is not a problem, and the cabin can be installed over most surfaces, although the floor on which the cabin is to stand should be level and ideally surfaced in tiles or a good quality vinyl for ease of cleaning.

“Reaching a maximum temperature of 50C, the infrared rays are invisible to the eye and generate heat when they impinge on the body.

The rays should not, however, be confused with ultra-violet radiation, which cause skin tanning and burning.

“The health benefits of an Infrared cabin are similar to those of a sauna, without causing excess perspiration. The deep heat penetration can ease muscular pain and increase circulation, remove toxins from the body, deep cleanse the skin and help to reduce cellulite. It may be for these reasons that we are finding Infrared cabins are extremely popular with women, beauty salons and smaller health centres.”
