North West based Viking Saunas & Steamrooms has just completed the refurbishment of a 12- person sauna in the highly acclaimed independent health and fitness club ‘Clubkingswood’ in Basildon, Essex. more.

Refurb History

We carried out our first refurbishment back in 1993 for Dunfermline District Council,  they had two old log saunas, which the council couldn’t afford to replace but were in urgent need of attention, or in the words of Leisure Club Manager Stephen Kerrigan ‘were an embarrassment’.  We came up with the concept of giving them a brand new interior, whilst keeping the original exterior and framework of the sauna, it worked very well and both client and their customers were amazed with the result.

Very often, the basic framework of the sauna, the door, heater and lighting are still perfectly serviceable and don’t need replacing. Also, the exterior façade of the sauna may combine with other elements of décor such as wall panelling and suspended ceilings. Under these circumstances a complete replacement would cause unnecessary additional cost & disruption.

Methods

Basically we are able to carry out a refurbishment by utilizing our bespoke manufacturing capabilities, fitting new internal wall and ceiling boards, solid open Obeche benches, bench supports, Obeche backrests and all internal wall & ceiling moulds: Giving the sauna a brand new interior.

If a full refurbishment isn’t necessary we can simply re-style and replace the benching system.

Where possible we can design a new bench layout to optimise available space or accommodate a concealed heater system.  Options such as LED or colour therapy lighting can also be incorporated.
