| NEW SAUNA HOTS UP WIRRAL COUNCIL’S LEISURE FACILITY |

Standish based Viking Saunas and Steam Rooms has just completed the installation of a bespoke 10 person sauna for Wirral Borough Council’s Guinea Gap Baths leisure facility.

The sauna has replaced the original model and provides contemporary features such as mood lighting and concealed heating. With users having had to previously navigate steps, these have now been removed and the sauna built to provide access for the disabled. Centre manager, Lorraine Banks said: “We have a loyal customer base and it is important that we provide the best facilities according to their needs. We are delighted with the new sauna. Things like having a concealed heater mean that we can control it which avoids any mistreatment, knowingly or unknowingly, of the facility. |

| “The sauna is also more efficient than our previous model which had to be switched on at least two hours before use to get it to the right heat. Now it takes just 30 minutes. “On average we get 200 people per week using the sauna which is a slight increase on before which is good. But the main thing is that we no longer get any complaints. We now have very happy customers and the investment has been extremely worthwhile.” Pam Sadler, managing director of Viking Saunas said: “Our bespoke saunas and steam rooms are proving popular installations for Local Authorities. When dealing with any leisure club facility whether it’s public or private, it is important that disruption is kept to a minimum and that revenue is not wasted. We can easily remove an old unit and replace it with a modern, state of the art sauna that is easy to manage, clean and maintain. Refurbishing and upgrading an existing sauna is also a very successful alternative, especially if budgets are tight. We provide free, on site surveys, to ascertain whether refurbishment is an option rather than replacement.” |
